PDF processing stays local. Files up to 100 MB and 300 pages; protected PDFs need an unlocked copy.

Text retouching covers the original line visually. It does not permanently remove the original text from the PDF, so do not use whiteout as a confidential redaction.

Questions people ask

Can this permanently redact text?

No. Text retouching and whiteout are visual replacements layered over the original content. The original text may remain extractable from the PDF. Use a dedicated redaction workflow when confidential information must be removed.

What happens to scanned PDFs?

Pages without meaningful native text show an OCR option. You can recognize English, French or both locally, then review the recognized lines before editing.

Will every font and language look exactly the same?

Review the preview after each correction. Font matching is an estimate and you choose the replacement font. Export checks the selected font and explains when characters or shaping cannot be reproduced safely.

Can I continue later?

Choose Save a local draft in the editor to enable recovery on this browser and device. Drafts expire after seven days and can be removed from the recovery card. Download your PDF to keep a durable copy.
